Glass and Grape Perfection?

Chef & Sommelier continue with endeavours to find a perfect union between the Glass and the grape, but the Macaron is not for everyone. The ingenuity of the Macaron is without a doubt unique and whilst the uniqueness is something that will get your customers tongues waggling to say the least, its main innovation is around enhancing much more than the flavour of the wine.

There is no doubt about it, Chef and Sommelier have really outdone themselves over the last decade producing innovative stemware that greatly improve the taste of an average wine found in most of your local restaurants. The Macaron however moves one step closer to perfecting the grape and glass relationship and as much as the shape may excite or startle you, the engineering is to be admired.

The rounded contours and the double shape of the Macaron strengthens the stemware whilst allowing the aromas to open and encouraging the oenological tasting experience. The lip of the glass is designed to meet the mouth naturally and with a lasered, not beaded lip edge enhancing glass to lip comfort. Whilst the double shape of the Stemware oxygenates the wine naturally easier the lip delivers the wine to the pallet perfectly, hitting the right spot for your taste buds to pick out all those smooth and tasty notes.

As great as Macaron is the shape will not be for everyone. The shape is something we’ve never seen before, truly unique and for some unattractive. However, the sommeliers I have visited on my travels have complemented the glass and its founders Chef & Sommelier.
